United Way Northumberland Announces 2025 Campaign Goal and First Round of Program Investment Allocations
Northumberland County, ON — Wednesday, November 19, 2025 – United Way Northumberland announces an $800,000 fundraising goal for its 2025-2026 Campaign, along with the first group of Program Investment Allocations and Haven for All recipients supporting essential community programs across the region.
This marks an important step in United Way Northumberland’s renewed and targeted investment strategy—one that aligns funding, partnerships, and in-house programs under a unified, community-focused vision.
2025 Program Investment Allocation Partners
United Way Northumberland, guided by the recommendations of its Community Investment Committee (a working group of board members and community volunteers), is pleased to announce the first 7 organizations selected for 2025-2026 Program Investment Allocations:
• Beyond the Blue Box
• Community Counselling and Resource Centre
• Community Health Centres of Northumberland
• Incredible Trent Hills
• The Help Centre and Legal Centre of Northumberland
• Transition House
• Trent Hills Pride
“Our investment strategy is about strengthening what already works in our communities and supporting ideas that are driving meaningful, collaborative change,” says Alicia Vandine, Executive Director of United Way Northumberland. “Everything we do, from running our in-house programming and events to investing in frontline agencies, is part of a unified commitment to improving lives here at home.”
Additional Community Supports Through Haven for All
Beyond these Program Investment Allocations, United Way Northumberland is directing Haven for All funding to meet urgent local needs, including homelessness diversion supports, seniors’ rental subsidies, training, and grocery cards to be distributed through community agencies.
The following organizations will receive Haven for All funding:
• Abundance Project (Warkworth)
• Greenwood Coalition
• Five Counties Children’s Centres
• Port Hope Mental Health Engagement and Response Team (M-HEART)
• The Help and Legal Centre of Northumberland
• The Salvation Army
• Suppers Ready (Brighton)
In-House Program Investments Also Strengthen Community Impact
In addition to supporting funded partners, United Way Northumberland delivers several in-house programs that continue to grow and evolve as part of this unified investment approach. This includes long-standing community initiatives such as Backpacks for Kids, Period Promise, and Northumberland Eats, as well as the newer School Nutrition Infrastructure Fund. Together, these programs represent significant and ongoing investments that directly support families, remove barriers, and build community resilience across Northumberland County.
“Today’s announcement reflects the strength of collaboration in our community,” adds Alicia. “When we work together, we create meaningful, lasting change for the people who need it most.”
The 2025 Campaign is now underway, and we are actively fundraising to reach our $800,000 Campaign Goal. Every donation, large or small, helps us invest in local people, local programs, and local change.
United Way Northumberland will announce the new Northumberland Eats investments in December.
