We’re thrilled to announce that applications for United Way Northumberland’s 26th Annual Day of Caring are officially open! This beloved community event brings together volunteers, partners, and organizations to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most. Whether you’re a nonprofit with a community project or an individual in need of a helping hand, we invite you to apply and be part of this incredible day of kindness, connection, and collaboration.
For 25 years, the Day of Caring has been a cornerstone of community spirit in Northumberland County. Each June, volunteers flood the county to complete projects that uplift individuals, families, and organizations. From yard work and home repairs to community clean-ups and beyond, this event is a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we come together.
This year, we’re building on the legacy of the past while embracing new opportunities to expand our reach. Our goal is to ensure that every corner of Northumberland County feels the impact of this special day.
The Day of Caring kicks off with a community gathering where volunteers, partners, and participants connect over a complimentary breakfast, generously provided by the Cobourg Lions Club. After fueling up and capturing the classic annual group photo, teams head out to locations across the county to roll up their sleeves and get to work.
