Celebrating Ethiopian Culture

Ethiopians have enriched Canadian society, excelling in fields like medicine, academia, business, and the arts. Many have become influential voices in promoting multiculturalism and African heritage within Canada. The Ethiopian Community Association in Toronto have been pivotal in providing services, advocating for immigrant rights, and celebrating Ethiopian culture through events and festivals. Dr. Tessema Mimmo, who played a major role in promoting health and community services, is another exemplary figure. These are just a few examples of Ethiopian-Canadians’ impact.

To honour Black History Month we wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the tremendous value our Ethiopian employee, Hana Wollebo, brings to the United Way team. Hana has been working to help us improve our data management and support our Finance Manager. She approaches all her tasks with a smile and is always eager to learn and help. Her dedication and talent are a perfect example of the Ethiopian community’s positive impact in Canada.

Thank you Watton Employment Services Inc. for helping us find Hana. We are so proud of the diverse and rich cultural heritage she brings to our workplace. We have learned as much from her as she has learned from us.
