The Northumberland United Way (NUW) is requesting proposals to refresh its public website. The current website was established in 2015 and is outdated. It is used to disseminate NUW information, community partnerships, upcoming events, and has limited fundraising ability.
We wish to improve the User Experience, an improved ability to manage content and improve community engagement built on a flexible platform we can expand. Finally, the new website must apply IT security best practices to ensure donor confidentiality and reduce cybersecurity risks.
Specific needs for new website:
- Integration with Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook page; we can pull information or push to these platforms.
- A headline news area with an emphasis on community issues important to the NUW and its partners.
- Easy to use templates etc.
Specific technical expectations:
- Meet or exceeds AODA standards.
- Meet or exceeds IT security standards (ex, Canadian PII laws, GDPR, https only, etc.).
- Mobile support for all standard web browsers; Chromium based, Safari, Firefox.
- Open structure for integrations and possible future expansion (ex, Donor Perfect, Social Media, etc.).
- Easier ability to update & manage website content.
- Website must be compatible with Web Application Firewall (WAF) should we ever need one.
- All documentation related to platforms tools used for the website. This is necessary for us to understand what software needs to be maintained.
- Knowledge transfer with OT Group for platform maintenance; patching, software upgrades.
Other considerations:
- Moving to another hosting provider
- Opportunities for reduced pricing if committing to a service contract to host and maintain the web server
