Period Promise Northumberland is thrilled to announce the success of its 4th annual Holiday Collection Campaign, collecting over 4,800 menstrual products.
From December 4 to January 2, 2024, Northumberland County residents were invited to participate in the collection campaign by contributing menstrual hygiene products, making financial donations, or organizing their own Period Promise collection drive. The campaign aimed to provide support to individuals, families, and local non-profit organizations facing challenges in accessing these essential products.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the drop-off locations that played a crucial role in this year’s campaign: Cobourg Public Library, The Squishy Goose, Nourish Boutique Spa, Nurturing Health Northumberland, Starbucks Cobourg, Port Hope and District Chamber of Commerce and Lofty Butter Company in Colborne.
“Thank you to all the local organizations who participated in our Holiday Collection Campaign,” says Chelsea Rankin, Communications and Fundraising Associate at United Way Northumberland, and organizer of Period Promise Northumberland. “We are so thankful to everyone who generously donated, helping to address period poverty in our community. These products will make a difference for those in need.”
