With six weeks left in the 2023 campaign, United Way Northumberland has achieved an impressive milestone, reaching 90% of its $910,000 fundraising goal.
“Since I joined the team in late January, I have been amazed by the hard work, and commitment of our team and the enthusiasm that has helped us to reach this point in the campaign” says Alicia Vandine, Executive Director, United Way Northumberland. “We are incredibly grateful to our community for continuing to rally behind United Way’s annual campaign. This unwavering support allows us to make significant investments in our community.”
The annual fundraising goal, set last September, is determined based on the anticipated needs in our community and enables United Way’s impact through community partner funding, in-house programs, and its advocacy work.
“I am immensely proud of the remarkable progress of the Northumberland United Way’s campaign. The collective effort and unwavering support from our communities reflect the true spirit of unity and compassion that defines us. The Northumberland United Way plays a pivotal role in addressing the diverse needs of our county, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment. Our shared commitment to building stronger, more resilient communities is exemplified through this campaign’s success. Together, we are making a profound impact, creating positive change, and ensuring that no one in Northumberland County is left behind. The United Way’s significance cannot be overstated, as it serves as a beacon of hope and solidarity, illuminating the path towards a brighter future for us all,” says Warden Brian Ostrander, Northumberland County.
Also announced in September, was United Way’s $50,000 matching gift opportunity generously donated by a community member to encourage new and increased donations to the 2023 campaign.
“We are thrilled to share that over $40,000 has been matched so far,” says Alicia. “There is still time to participate in the match and double the impact of your gift to our community.”
