Peter is a long-time Northumberland resident with over 32 years of media experience. He began his career as a media buyer in Toronto before returning home to Cobourg, where he’s become deeply rooted in the community. Over the years, Peter has contributed to local media outlets such as The Cobourg Star, Port Hope Evening Guide, Colborne Chronicle, and Northumberland News. In his current role, Peter serves as Assistant Manager for Metroland Media Group/Torstar’s Durham Region publications.

Beyond his professional achievements, Peter is a passionate community advocate. He has served on the boards of local organizations like Rebound Child & Youth Services Northumberland, Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre, and multiple chambers of commerce. An active Rotarian, Peter is also a past president of both the Northumberland Sunrise Rotary and Rotary Club of Cobourg.

In 2012, Peter co-chaired Northumberland United Way’s fundraising campaign, and now he’s taking his commitment to new heights with the Peter Dounoukos Challenge.
