Campaign and Event Coordinator

Position Summary

United Way Northumberland is seeking a motivated, relationship-focused, and highly organized Campaign and Event Coordinator to support and grow our fundraising efforts across Northumberland County.

This full-time role is primarily focused on revenue development through workplace campaigns, community events, donor engagement, partnerships, and new fundraising opportunities. The Campaign and Event Coordinator will manage existing workplace campaigns and events, help develop new initiatives, and work closely with the team to identify sources of revenue that support United Way Northumberland’s continued growth and local impact.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, coordinating details, engaging with the community, and helping people understand how their support creates meaningful change locally.

Key Responsibilities

Workplace Campaigns

The Campaign and Event Coordinator will support, maintain, and grow United Way Northumberland’s workplace campaign program.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage existing workplace campaigns, including planning, coordination, materials, presentations, follow-up, and donor recognition.
  • Build relationships with workplace campaign leads, employers, unions, employee groups, and corporate partners.
  • Support workplaces in developing campaign strategies that are engaging, effective, and aligned with their workplace culture.
  • Identify and develop new workplace campaign opportunities across Northumberland County.
  • Deliver presentations and speaking opportunities that inspire giving and connect donors to local impact.
  • Track campaign results, donor engagement, and follow-up activities.
  • Work with the team to strengthen campaign tools, communications, and recognition practices.

 

The Campaign and Event Coordinator will support existing fundraising and community engagement events while helping develop new opportunities for revenue generation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate existing United Way Northumberland events, including logistics, timelines, sponsorships, volunteers, vendors, promotion, and follow-up.
  • Work with the team to develop new fundraising events and community engagement opportunities.
  • Support event sponsorship development and sponsor recognition.
  • Coordinate event communications, invitations, materials, signage, and donor follow-up.
  • Track event revenue, expenses, participation, and outcomes.
  • Ensure events are well-organized, mission-aligned, and contribute to fundraising and community awareness goals.
  • Support volunteer engagement related to fundraising events and workplace campaigns.

Revenue Development and Partnerships

A key part of this role is helping United Way Northumberland identify and grow new sources of revenue.

Responsibilities include:

  • Research and identify potential sources of revenue, including corporate partnerships, sponsorships, community campaigns, third-party events, grants, and donor engagement opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with local businesses, service clubs, community groups, workplaces, and potential partners.
  • Support partnership development that strengthens United Way Northumberland’s visibility, fundraising capacity, and community impact.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to align fundraising opportunities with United Way’s priorities, programs, and community investment areas.
  • Help create proposals, sponsorship packages, presentations, and other materials to support revenue generation.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration that increase awareness, engagement, and support for United Way Northumberland.

Communications and Donor Engagement

The Campaign and Event Coordinator will help communicate the value and impact of giving locally.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support donor and campaign communications, including emails, presentations, social media content, newsletters, and recognition materials.
  • Share stories of impact that help donors understand how their contributions support people across Northumberland County.
  • Assist with donor stewardship, thank-you communications, and recognition activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of campaign activity, event participation, donor engagement, and partnership development.
  • Work with the team to ensure fundraising messaging is consistent, compelling, and aligned with United Way Northumberland’s brand and mission.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of relationship-building skills, fundraising interest, event coordination experience, and strong organizational ability.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in fundraising, event coordination, sales, community development, marketing, communications, nonprofit work, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Comfort speaking with donors, employers, community partners, and volunteers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar tools.
  • Willingness to attend occasional evening or weekend events as required.
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation, as travel within Northumberland County will be required.

Assets

  • Experience with workplace campaigns, annual giving, sponsorship, or donor stewardship.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit, charitable, or community-based organization.
  • Knowledge of Northumberland County and its business, nonprofit, and community networks.
  • Experience using donor databases, CRM systems, Canva, Mailchimp, or social media platforms.
  • Comfort delivering presentations to groups.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position based with United Way Northumberland. The role will involve regular office work, meetings with community partners, attendance at events, and travel throughout Northumberland County. Some evening and weekend work will be required for events, presentations, and campaign activities.

Compensation

Salary range: $43,000–$55,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
