United Way Northumberland has officially launched its 2023 fundraising campaign, with a goal to raise $910,000 to support the Northumberland County community.
This goal was set to ensure the continuity of essential programs and services, including United Way run programs, those led by dedicated funded community partners, as well as United Way’s local advocacy work. United Way is also committed to directly addressing the community’s needs across it’s three focus areas: poverty, children, and community.
“United Way plays a crucial role in supporting our community, providing essential resources and assistance to 1 in 4 people in Northumberland County who rely on United Way funded programs and services each year,” says Maggie Darling, Acting Executive Director, United Way Northumberland. “We are grateful to our generous donors who continue to believe in the work of United Way and support our campaign each year.”
During the Campaign Kickoff and CommUNITY BBQ event, United Way Northumberland also announced an incredible opportunity for donors. Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, United Way is kicking off the 2023 campaign with a $50,000 Matching Gift opportunity. New donations to United Way will be 100% matched, and any donors who increase their donation by 10% or more will also be matched, doubling the love and doubling the impact.
In recent years, matching gifts have played a vital role in United Way Northumberland’s community support efforts. A total of $225,000 has been donated to launch matching gifts, translating to $500,000 in impact for Northumberland County.
The funds raised through this matching gift will allow United Way to continue its annual investments in the community through community partner allocations, while also investing in programs and advocacy work to address our greatest needs.
